Last night, I went to a meeting of the Rapid City Education Board. 1100 people showed up! Yup, people are pretty crazy when the folks in charge want to cut Band and Orchestra – not to mention all the academic programs designed to help struggling students. It never occurred to the them that people cared if their kids learned something in school.
Nice piece Milt. I wish we had a solution handy (like a state income tax) but so many people have made taxes into a dirty word. How else are we going to pay for the education our kids need? More unfunded Mandates like No Child Left Behind are not going to work. Let’s put a Democrat in the White House so we can get the economy back on track and stop this stupid war.
here’s mine – I’ve skipped a couple of weeks so need to catch up. was very busy at work this week – in Istanbul / Turkey so haven’t seen a lot apart from hotel, freeway, work and my computer & inside the tv station.
i was laughing my ass off when verdi and jay picked up the wii. i’ve never actually seen anyone use this, oddly, and i thought it was so funny. also this is one of the only clips i recorded during our trip on my xacti. i just never picked it up. jay took lots of photos though. have a lot of stuff for ryanishungry on tapes though! i think that was enough for me. videoblogging week 2008 starts tomorrow. time to video things for real!
I have a bit of a packrat tendancy sometimes. As such, I have kept my vouchers from every day I did extra work here in LA. Here are my first 228 days of extra work, over a four year period.

A different sort of video this week. I did not shoot or edit this one, but I did perform in it!
On Wednesday the company I work for had a team day in Felixstowe. After the all the staff training, discussions and stuff, they organized a karaoke party. This clip is a bit of my daughter Elizabeth and me singing “Barbie Girl” shot by a colleague with a camera phone (MP4 0:45 15MB).
Semanal08 : Week 16 – Lunchtime Playground
A few weeks ago, ElectricMummy had to go do some business things, which is nothing unusual, except on this occasion our little Sprite had a bit of a cough that kept him out of school. That left me on playground duty for a couple of hours. Which was actually quite nice, it got me out of the office and away from work for an extended period of time with a perfectly valid excuse.
