This might not seem like it - right away, but this piece is actually about the Natural Human Learning Process. It’s not really about grandkids, and love, and beauty - really! It’s an education piece.

Wether this video is instructional or not I Love Babies!

Thanks Huub! I do too, and these little guys are pretty fine. My comment was actually doubly ironic. Of course it’s all about my new grandkids, but I hoped people would watch it, so I emphasized the other aspect - which is that we are really and truly doing a piece on learning and how long it takes to learn anything. So what can I say?

Geef me peper! Wow - so do you do music videos on a regular basis? That dutch - I assume it’s dutch - is amazing. What a crazy language! Loved it.

comments welcome there to :-)

Spring is Here! Are those Tulips Danish Tulips? Seen that cloud before! They come over our house a few days before they show up where you live! Or is it the other way around? ;-)

2008-04-01 06:24:20

the cloud came from africa, over holland as did the tulips… the cloud then made it to new york via chile and a small detour over japan.

Quick video of the beginning of my Intro to Video on the Web workshop held on Long Island. Used the video during the second hour of the session as an example of how I create videos and dumpt them online. Fun class!

I attended the Media Re:public conference that was given by The Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. The conference was held at the University of California. I was hip deep in the academia and Journalists and other folks.

So this is a seven minute discussion on what the MacArthur Foundation does and why they are interested in participatory media.

I worked this past weekend and was off Monday in lieu. So I gave myself a small to-do list.

Very good. I particularly liked the way that you rendered the video before you had finished shooting it :)

I’m still laughing! That was great. I especially liked the POV - inside all the different things - very cool. And I’ll be sure to send a birthday card! Well done!

I have not done a lumiere yet, and in the spirit of continuing experimentation which I enjoy so much about the semanal project, this video seemed an ideal candidate to try the form.

I shot the footage while on the same beach walk as my week 13 entry. Following the lumiere rules, I have not applied any effects. The distinctive, lush, look of this video is mainly due to the beautiful sky-lighting of an oncoming rainstorm shot on a digital camera at maximum zoom.

The shapes in the distance are the rides of the Fantasy Island theme park. Most of the rides seem not to be operating on this damp and chilly Thursday in March, but one small ride bravely struggles on.

I enjoyed that one. I’m still not totally with the lumiere rules yet, but this one was really nice to look at. It was an excellent composition.

making a chicken wrap in israel

I like the way they make the wraps here. this is from one store. usually the ball of dough is rounder and they don’t flatten it first, but it gives you an idea. I’ve never seen one of these machines before this store so I go there just to watch it.

lately I’ve mostly been taking photos & video of food. maybe I’ve been here too long..

This is an interactive exercise!

(But shouldn’t watching all videos be interactive!)

our last week in SF, we took the train to and from the city to work on a video shoot. SF is a beautiful place to ride the train for sure.

No time, no vids… well a lumierevideo always can give you a little bit of time to get back.

Learned the correlation between the economy and broken auto glass in the streets back in the 90’s. The more broken auto glass in the gutter, the worse the economy.

I remember when nearly every car in NYC featured hand-written signs taped to a rear window that said things like, “Don’t bother. Everything’s been stolen already,” or, “Sorry, nothing left.”

People react to having been violated by making signs.

Signs of the times.

Broke
Current gas prices definitely take a toll on the wallet. I wish I lived closer in to the city where I wouldn’t need a car.

First Move, Playground Fun
A little while ago, we decided that The Sprite was ready for the next big test in his growth as a media consumer. He successfully graduated from Baby Einstein, to The Wiggles, to Sesame Street, to every Pixar DVD available. Now he was ready for the Big Screen.
